Im Jahr 1996 wurde Blackie Collins in die Cutlery Hall of Fame aufgenommen. - Das Strut'N'Cut-Messer wurde von der weichen Federung des Ducati-Motorrads von Blackie Collins inspiriert. 1996 gründete er zusammen mit Bill Meyer die Messerfirma Meyerco. Die beiden waren sofort Pioniere in der Welt der Messer und brachten als erstes Unternehmen ein Messer mit Öffnungsunterstützung auf den Markt. Heute wird Meyerco die Erfindung des federbelasteten Messers zugeschrieben. - Blackie Collins hält über 60 Patente für Messermechanismen und zahlreiche Geschmacksmuster für Besteckprodukte. Er war eine Bestecklegende und wird sehr vermisst werden.

When I began teaching combat unfortunately I noticed that many teach the use of the knife in the wrong way. The knife is one of the most important tools for the man and his daily use is connected to my personal story, to my way of life, the principles learned from the teachings of my father and all the experience acquired as a teacher.
