Laguiole, was man als "Hauptstadt" des Aubrac bezeichnen kann, ist eine kleine Stadt mit etwa 900 Einwohnern, die auf der ganzen Welt für das traditionelle Laguiole-Messer bekannt wurde.

Das Laguiole-Messer, auch bekannt als Messerkorkenzieher, wird von den besten Sommeliers der Welt geliebt und soll sich seit dem vierzehnten Jahrhundert entwickelt haben. Es wird gesagt, dass sie es von ihren Eltern anlässlich der Ersten Kommunion erhalten haben, und es mit der Liebe für das Leben als ein Freund und als ein "Amulett" verwendet haben.

Das Laguiole-Messer bezieht sich auf ein älteres Modell namens Capuchadou, das die Aubrac-Züchter seit dem 14. Jahrhundert täglich benutzten. Die Bauern brachten es mit, hängten sie an den Gürtel und benutzten es, um Holz zu bearbeiten oder Brot und Käse zu schneiden. Laguiole, was man als "Hauptstadt" des Aubrac bezeichnen kann, ist eine kleine Stadt mit etwa 900 Einwohnern, die auf der ganzen Welt für das traditionelle Laguiole-Messer bekannt wurde.

Das Laguiole-Messer, auch bekannt als Messerkorkenzieher, wird von den besten Sommeliers der Welt geliebt und soll sich seit dem vierzehnten Jahrhundert entwickelt haben. Es wird gesagt, dass sie es von ihren Eltern anlässlich der Ersten Kommunion erhalten haben, und es mit der Liebe für das Leben als ein Freund und als ein "Amulett" verwendet haben.

Das Laguiole-Messer bezieht sich auf ein älteres Modell namens Capuchadou, das die Aubrac-Züchter seit dem 14. Jahrhundert täglich benutzten. Die Bauern brachten es mit, hängten sie an den Gürtel und benutzten es, um Holz zu bearbeiten oder Brot und Käse zu schneiden. Es wird gesagt, dass sie es am Ende des Arbeitstages wie ein Kreuz auf den Boden legen, um ihr Abendgebet zu halten.

Das aktuelle Messer Laguiole, hat seinen Prototyp in dem von Pierre-Jean Calmels zu Beginn des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts entworfenen. Zu dieser Zeit lebten viele Katalanen in dieser Region, die für Entwaldung oder andere Arbeitsplätze genutzt wurden. Sie benutzten ein Klappmesser, eine gebogene Klinge, die Navaja genannt wurde, und Calmels schuf ein schönes und funktionales Instrument, das das traditionelle Navaja und Laguiole Messer, Erbe des Capuchadou, verschmolz. Noch heute wird jedes Laguiole En Aubrac Messer von Laguiole's Handwerkern handgefertigt.
