Ein typisches piemontesisches Messer, das aus dem Dorf Vernante in der Provinz Cuneo stammt und seit Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts auch im benachbarten Ligurien verwendet wurde. Es zeichnet sich durch einen geschmiedeten Knopf am oberen Teil des Klingenabsatzes aus, der bei geöffneter Klinge in die Griffmulde eingepasst werden kann und als Anschlag dient.
